Vendia stands for sustainable boatbuilding. Vendia products are made from local pine, selected by a wooden boatbuilder. We develop materials and solutions that are easy to use. Both for amateurs and professionals. We love wooden boats!
Vendia boatplanks
Our plywood solutions have been developed in close collaboration with finish professional wooden boatbuilders. The use of carefully selected sliced veneers instead of rotary cut veneers differs greatly from standard plywood from mass producers, in visual aesthetics as well as quality. The locally sourced, certified wood makes for a highly sustainable product, not only from an environmental, but also cultural perspective. Boats made from Vendia are easy to use and maintain. It is used for classical clinker boats but also for modern wooden boatbuilding. Vendia is easy to machine with CNC or laser cutting. We can also produce customized materials according to your digital drawings.
Other products and services
We have developed our own products using digitalization. We offer Canoe building courses and DIY-kits. Our first own product is the Finnia Canoe that can be built during a 10-day course.
We can also help you find the best sustainable, environmentally friendly propulsion for your boat. We represent "Kräutler Electric Motors" from Austria.
We work closely with our customers, aiming always at finding solutions that are sustainable, cost efficient and durable.
Material development
We just started a material development program funded by the EU, aiming at developing products that are not only sustainable, but help our customers to optimize their production process. The use of more truly sustainable wooden products in the marine industry can contribute to decarbonization. We work for a more sustainable future.
Products
Vendia boatplanks
Vendia boatbuilding plywood is a sustainable product made from Nordic pine. The use of sliced instead of rotary cut veneer gives the Vendia boat plank the natural appearance of solid wood. Vendia is made by boat builders for boat builders.
Vendia boats
Vendia Woods was born out of love for the traditional Käenniemi boat. We produce a small number of Käenniemi rowing boats every year. The Vendia rowing boat is durable in use, easy to maintain and store over the winter.
Canoe building courses
Two wooden canoe building courses will be held at Ämmätsä Manor in Pälkäne in summer 2025.

Our HUB partner Thomas Vochezer from Wangen i.A. presented two of his boats built in Vendia at this year's INTERBOOT boat show. Pictured here are the Färing ‘Freja’ and his latest boat, the ‘Hoppetosse’, a sailing dinghy that is also available to buy as a kit. According to many visitors to the fair, the stand was ‘by far the most beautiful stand at the fair’.
