Trained as a boat builder at the Rathje boatyard in Kiel,
Since the foundation of -Holzbootswerft Andreas Gronau GmbH- in 2004 self-employed.
Since then he has focussed on the construction and new construction of wooden boats.
The Cornish Lugger series, M-racing dinghies and numerous traditional Scandinavian workboats should be emphasised.
As a training company, 12 apprentices have successfully completed their training as boat builders.
He has lived with his family on the Elbe near Cuxhaven since 2021
