It has been a nice buzz around the wooden boats in the first days of Helsinki International Boat Show.  The beauty of wooden boats and the aroma of wood have attracted most of the people. It is nice to notice that wooden boats still attracts interest in spite of the grand day cruisers and fibreglass boats that we have. One fair visitor even said that this wooden boat section is the most beautiful section of the Boat Show.
Helsinki International Boat Show will continue until 21st February. Welcome to see the wooden boat section 7a21 and our VENDIA products.

Helsinki International Boat Show has begun and will continue until 21.2. On VENDIA's presentation stand you will get to know to VENDIA marine plank and other products from VENDIA product family. Our new product, VENDIA with mahogany face veneer will be also presented. You will find us from the section 7a21.

Here's a little taster of a pulling boat made of mahogany VENDIA marine plank. This mahogany boat called Niko is on view at Helsinki International Boat Show from 12th to 21st February. The boat is made and designed by boat designer Jarmo Häkkinen.

VENDIA will be at Helsinki International Boat Show from 12th to 21st February. On VENDIA's presentation stand you will get to know to VENDIA marine plank and other products from VENDIA product family. Our new product, VENDIA with mahogany face veneer will be also presented. Last April we wrote about Scottish Adrian Morgan who was fascinated by VENDIA marine plank and built Bob - 4,8 meters long skiff. Adrian found VENDIA marine plank from Richard Jagel's article in WoodenBoat magazine and wrote also a review of VENDIA marine plank himself in the same magazine later this autumn (issue September/October 2015). 

A project started in April 2015 which aimed to design a sportier and lighter boat, so called pulling boat, mainly for use of boat building courses. The plan was to create a boat model that would be faster to build than traditional clinker boat. This feature would bring cost benefits especially for the boat building courses. In addition to the cost benefits the aim was to design a boat that would be fast and sensitive to row.
