VENDIA is a specific plywood developed for wooden boat building. It is a sustainable product with a low carbon footprint, being made from renewable northern european raw materials.
VENDIA combines the properties of massive wood with the benefits of plywood products. The first point being; the use of the sliced veneers enhances the high quality appeal of a natural beautiful board and just as importantly the plywood performs well under stress and humidity, hence it is flexible and long lasting. The surface layers are made from knot free sliced veneers. Easy to use and store, like other marine plywood. The top layers are made from knot-free sliced veneers. The use of water- resistant glue guarantees a exceptionally versatile material, that has proven its longevity for many years.
VENDIA has stood the test of time. The first boats from Vendia were made in the year 2014 and boatbuilders worldwide confirm to have very happy customers. Easy to row and sail, no cracks or other problems. Vendia can be used for building classical clinker boats but also works fine for modern composite builds. It can also be used for boat interior purposes, but also applications on land, where sustainability and longevity are a key factor are possible with Vendia. There are two options for the face veneer of Vendia Boat planks, crown cut and quarter cut.
Pine marine plank
VENDIA
Structure
Face veneers are made of knot-free pine and core veneers of pine. For example, a 9 mm plank consists of five lengthwise and two crosswise veneers. Core veneer thickness: 1.2 mm, face veneer thickness: 1.5 mm.

Thicknesses: 3,6 - 4,2 - 4,8 - 6,6 - 9 - 12 - 15 mm, special dimensions by request. Corresponding veneer layers: 3, 5, 5, 5, 7, 9, 11.

Keel
Structure
The raw material is Finnish old grown pine. Keel is made of only lengthwise veneers – face veneers 1.5 mm and core veneers 3.0 mm.

Bent frame
Structure
The raw material is Finnish old grown pine. Bent frames are made of only lengthwise veneers. A 6 mm bent frame is made of four 1.5 mm veneers, whereas 10.5 mm bent frame is made of seven 1.5 mm veneers. Bent frames can also be made of normal structured VENDIA marine plank (see details in the section Marine plank).

Big Vendia Sheets
We also produce large Vendia sheets on request. The maximum size is 3000x1150mm. The top layers are made of 1.5mm quarter Cutveneer.
Veneers
We also offer our customers the purchase of individual veneers. During the production of our Vendia products, there are always high-quality by-products which we store and sell. These come in different sizes and on request we can tell you whether the required sizes are available. These veneers are ideal for laminates and craft projects.
Technical data
Face veneer quality A/AB. Bonding quality EN 314-2, class 3, exterior. Dimensional tolerances EN 315. VENDIA meets the technical requirements of the British standard 1088. Density 650 kg/m3 (+/- 50 kg).
